Endoscopy at Southill Vets
An Endoscope is a tiny camera on the end of a flexible tube that our Vets can insert directly down a pet’s throat to look around the digestive system and even take small biopsies. It is a highly specialised piece of equipment that not many veterinary practices have direct access to.
Specialised tools aid accurate diagnosis & treatment
Seeing what is going on inside your pet can be crucial to getting an accurate diagnosis so that we can recommend the best treatment options. Our Veterinary Surgeons use endoscopes, in conjunction with other diagnostic facilities at our Wincanton and Gillingham surgeries like digital X-ray and ultrasound, for detailed internal examination and more accurate diagnosis.
Although endoscopy is a non-surgical procedure, pets will be sedated to ensure their comfort throughout.
